Description

Welcome Home. This sprawling 1,000 sq ft floor-through features a 20 x 50 garden, roughly 1,000 sq ft of outdoor space, nestled within a strip of stately brownstones on Manhattan's Upper West Side, one block from Central Park!

Once in the unit, you will find a foyer masquerading as a suburban mudroom, providing ample space to store your bikes, take off your shoes, sort your mail, hang coats, or display artwork. The apartment itself can be entered either through the bedroom or the kitchen, while the rear staircase leads you to the basement, where a surprising amount of storage is paired with a private washer/dryer, free for your use.

Entering through the kitchen, an open concept living/dining area awaits, roughly square, with windows facing the garden. The kitchen, featuring stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, occupies one wall of a space that could be both social and intimate. Think lounge-style seating or an intentional combination of conversational seating and dedicated dining.

Directly across from the kitchen counter you will find an original stove that has been retained as a historical point of interest, representing the original character of the apartment and building.

Before arriving in the bedroom, the dressing area features additional closet space and built-in shelving. The bathroom lives here, in between rooms, accessible to both without compromising the privacy of either.

Entering the bedroom, original window shutters, an ornate ceiling medallion, and an original mantelpiece crowning the now decorative fireplace provide character. The room is 12'8" by 21'1", giving you enough space for a queen-sized bed and a desk, or a queen-sized bed and a couch facing a TV. There is an additional 6' of closets in this room.

Exiting the unit, you will see a brick patio with large fruit trees that arch and meet in the middle. The majority of the back yard is brick, allowing you enough space to personalize without requiring the weekly upkeep of a private jungle.

The building is owner-occupied and does not allow pets.
One block from Central Park, less than 5 minutes from the 2/3, B/C, Trader Joe's, and no shortage of dining and entertainment options.
