LEGENDARY ADDRESS

Greta Garbo, John Lennon, Shirley Maclaine, Noel Coward, and Tommy Tune have all come home to this storied block. Here, by a private cul-de-sac overlooking the East River -- an area Dorothy Parker deemed "Wits End" -- legends loom large. On this famously private stretch, bold face names come to relax, to recharge, and to create -- taking-in the calming energy that emanates from the riverfront. Here, the hustle and bustle is close -- yet so very far away. You can exhale, and almost touch the sky.

Tommy Tune discovered this rare penthouse tower by chance. He was visiting Shirley Maclaine's home below, and he dared to look up -- to climb 18 magical stairs to find a hidden eden. Way up top, he found an enthralling, enchanting, magical home at the base of a water tower. This heavenly residence is the ultimate perch, the ultimate home. Surrounded on all sides by thrilling views of the river and city skyline -- and enrobed on three sides by a wide, wonderfully private terrace of ~1800 sf -- this extraordinary escape is the discovery of a lifetime.

Tommy wrote about his new penthouse, he sang about it, and he danced about it in his shows around the country. This penthouse has served as Tommy's creative home base. Here, he has visualized and painted, written and rewritten, created and entertained. Cast parties and dinner parties for luminaries of theatre and film have enjoyed terrific times right here. The positive energy and wonderful vibes abound, and the tower penthouse is ready for its next legendary host.

Stretched out atop the supreme Southgate, Emery Roth's iconic pre-war creation, this rare retreat stands tall. Ceilings soar to nearly 14-feet, underfoot are light Oak planks, and everywhere you look there is inspiration and calm, light and beauty. The great room is high above it all -- open and lofty, with big windows, room for dining, and multiple seating areas (and currently the showroom for all 10 of Tommy's well-earned Tony Awards). An open kitchen with a wrap-around dining bar serves this entertainer's dream home -- offering ample shelving and counter space and stainless appliances (including a dishwasher and washer/dryer). The bedroom suite is king-sized and peaceful and has easy proximity to the big designer bath, with a supreme soaking tub and stall shower, and impressive closet and storage space. Both the living room and the bedroom suite have through-wall AC, over-scaled windows, and enjoy dual access points to this penthouse's jaw-dropping terrace -- the ultimate, immense, al fresco dream space with dynamic, postcard-perfect river, city, and big sky views. Ready for gardening, parties, meals, sunrise coffees and sunset cocktails, this penthouse tower's terrace is one of NYC's world-class trophies.

Luminous and unforgettable, the penthouse tower enjoys all the benefits of its pet-friendly, full-service building's top-tier, seasoned staff, and all the conveniences of its esteemed neighborhood. Here, shopkeepers greet you by name and discretion and privacy are honored and assured. The new riverfront promenade is nearby, and you are within a stone's throw of some of our city's most treasured cultural, dining, and shopping destinations.

High above it all, there is a dream space -- an enchanted place where possibility takes flight, and life is bigger, taller, and grander -- just like Tommy. Come discover your own legendary penthouse tower.
